the level of vol knob in OD/DS mode

Hi,
pse enlight me. do you full blast the volume knob on the guitar or put in to moderate( just enough to engage a OD or DS sound when the pedal is hit)
it's seem that when i roll back all the way on the guitar.. there's so much feedback( pick attack cant be heard, am i right about this also?), and of cos much noise . this also cause another problem.. when my finger is lifted from tapping. there always unwanted noise. this question always been around. but haha never really put it up before.

Volume knob? All the way up. If I need slightly less gain then I roll it down.

Sounds like you need to play around with the OD/DS and get acquinted with it.Play around with it at different knob setting and do it similarly with your guitar volume knob.You'll be surprised of the different tones and sustain you get at each settings....try not to rush thru the process.
The settings are mostly to each individual preference....

My volume and tone knobs are always all the way up. But when there's too much noise I activate the noisegate and the gain level on my Floor Pod or Uber Metal, depending which one I'm using...

sounds like your gain is too high.

mayb also a change of pots to dimarzio ones might help.
