The Launch: Bismuth In/Out Synchronium EP
Bismuth, an alternative band from Singapore, founded by school friends Flint and Steve in early 2003. Chris was drafted into the group in 2006.
The group - named after an element - has undergone several lineup changes and radical musical mutations. Their music is said to be an eclectic amalgam of alternative, indie, avant-garde, funk and, most notably, post-grunge and dream pop. The group's extensive use of guitar effects; dominantly arcane and eccentric songwriting; and passive/aggressive shifts in song dynamics have helped to shape the group's idiosyncratic style and sound - perpetually provoking their own ideals to conjure more vivid material.
Almost a year in the making, the sounds of their debut EP have finally been realized, under the providence of Nick Chan as the producer and mixing engineer. The group is releasing In/Out Synchronium on 4 January 2008 under Wallwork Records.
