Liverpool agree to sell Xabi Alonso to Real

MADRID - Liverpool have agreed to sell Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid, the two clubs announced on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old, who had been with Liverpool for five seasons, will move for an undisclosed fee, subject to a medical, Liverpool said on their website .

Wenger points to new players - but not Vieira




Arsène Wenger is targeting up to two new players before the transfer window closes – but Patrick Vieira is unlikely to be one of them.

Speaking at the launch of Arsenal’s Charity of the Season, the French manager suggested he was interested in “one offensive and one defensive player” to add to his squad.

However when asked about the much-rumoured re-signing of his former captain, Wenger replied: "Not at the moment, no.”

He went on: "We can still make do with one or two players more.

"One could be in the defensive areas, and one in the attacking areas.

"We make a few enquires for players, but we are nowhere near to signing anybody at the moment.

"Usually the transfer market only speeds up from August 26 up to midnight on August 31 – and especially in the last two hours."

I didn't know you worship whiskey nose? ;)

Anyway, that brain-dead scot is just playing his predictable "mind-games". That's because (i) he's getting senile, (ii) he feels insecure knowing L'pool has a great chance to win the 09/10 EPL title.

And old fart bag doesn't even mention Arse's title chances. Why? Because he knows Arse is going to play in the UEFA Cup the following season!
 
mmmmm ... interesting and as much as I hate fergie & man u - sir rudolf does have a point ....

he also prolly left out mentioning AFC coz he is very wary that they may be the dark horse challenges and is thinking how to outwit Wenger
 
i think that's cause when it comes down to it, Arsenal's first team has essentially been the same with last season's team.

i mean, adebayor is gone but he was just a mindless shell last season anyways. ditto for toure, who, as much as i liked him, can't seem to work nicely with Gallas.

Of course, it would have been a lot nicer had Gallas left instead :p

Stats says that Arsenal players are literally smaller than the 03/04 squad of the unbeatables.Something to worry about at set pieces?

The union is for teams with title ambitions.Teams who will cause a threat to United winning their forth title in row.So Pool can join Everton and Villa as the mid-table teams.

1. AFC PLAYS PROBABLY THE MOST ENTERTAINING SOCCER IN THE EPL IF NOT EUROPE

2. MANU MAY NOT PLAY THE MOST ATTACTIVE STYLE BUT THEY ARE NONE THE LESS SUCCESSFUL

3. POOL DUN PLAY ATTRACTIVE & ARE ALSO NOT SUCCESSFUL ..
