Hey ppl. im a huge fan of the flying v. Its jus a simply amazing guitar. anw other than gibson's flying v, why dont ya guys share the other models which ya think is value for money and cld measure up to the gibson counterparts. cuz i heard gibson's qc is dropping like hell. Personally i think esp dv-8 is lovely.dave mustaine sig series if im not wrong. if im not wron davis is selling it. :D
 
ironcross:ah i see..how much ya paid for it? and frm where did ya buy it frm? haha oh yeah. is it difficult to sit down and play the guitar? :D
 
I am a fan of flying. V also...

a few models that i like are might or might not be better then gibson's V

- Jackson Randy Rhoads custom
- BC rich flying V (the older ones with normal headstock, instead of the demon headstocks)
- Epi 1967 flying V red (this is currently, i think the only model i can afford)
- Esp flying V custom (the photo is shown on the ESP custom link, that guitar is used by james hetfield if you watch metallica live concert)

yah... it is diff, u have to put the v cutting in between yr legs
 
from wat i heard from my frens who own flying vs..they R difficult to play...the best way wud be standing up n strapping it around...
but i love flying vs too...i like gibsons best(cuz of look only,lah...)

they giv access to the higher frets too..n is lighter(right...?)

oh btw,randy rhoads RR series r by jackson right?
if it is,my fren has this jackson flying v with tt kinda design...
he bought it off some1 at mr luther classifieds 4 $300 with seymour duncan pickups fitted on it...
but he said flying vs paint chip off at the bottom cuz it's pointed...

bought it frm a fren. 200
 
i dont know whether this works, but can try pasting sandpaper on the base of the v. friction ah... but i have yet to try it... but mostly i will play standing. sit also can as mine is the RR copy. the edges are not of equal length... so somehow can sit ah...
 
I recently bought a secondhand black jackson rr3. flamed top n all .. Vs are just sexy lah. i dunno to me Guitars n cars are the only other objects than human beings to be able to be called sexy. Haha.

Gunna upgrade my pickups since the ones they came with were rusty n the tonedidny really suit me

My RR3 is nice to play.. lower frets are indeed more accesible.. but only abit more cos its a bolt on neck

I personally sit with te v between my legs.. on a soft chair n stand the shorter 'v' up on the cusion on the chair between my legs since since the rr type is lopsided when im lazy to stand =)

what series is that jackson RR3? surf the jackson web, seems like they have RRs for all series. what's the difference?

btw what's that LTD model? MH-200?
 
waaah damn nice... mine is the RR copy. but samick ah. n i think its the only one left here in sg. i cant seem to find any of those anymore... the samick copy of rr tt is...

Thanks =) its a year old! the prev onwer never played it much.. impulse buy he said.. the lower frets are jsut starting to rust abit tho.. n the mounting ring for the pikcup is cracked .. anyone noe where to find new mounting rings?

oh the rr3 is in the pro series with the rr5 bolt on maple.. with duncan designed pickups.. its lower end.. the JS series has jackson pickups .. the X series have less controls.. pots etc.. and i think the top of the line is the american dunowad series.. the RR1 with set neck n serymour duncan jazz n sh2n pickups

Yah very rare! lucky sia u. haha i think ive seen one at this weelee jamming studio before tho not sure.
 
tt was a scorpion V. it suck. mine is better... duncan deisgned pickups... not bad ah. jus tt i had to look for the whammy bar on my own.
 
ahh scorpion! ya then they make jem copies too right? the make the monkeygrip with the hole but without the individual grooves for fingers. Exactly. Duncan designed pups are what standard RR3s come with!
 
yeah scorpion. i heard it suck. n mine is not bad eventhough its samick as they come wif gd pickups. n i dont intend to change it... so its gd buy. btw, how much is ur jackson???
