The first step for my band.

Are there any gigs which allows the bands to play covers? I would really like to feel the atmosphere of the crowd b4 we play our originals on other gigs so that we will understand how they react. Cause i believe we play covers better than originals. :( And ppl would understand covers more since the songs are kinda famous and played over the radio over and over again instead of a really really new original which the crowd has never heared b4.

Am i right to say so?

Could u guys give some pointers for playing your originals on a gig for the very first time.

Record your original and post them up on myspace.. Let people listen and do promoting and stuff.. So that people know your songs when you guys are playing live..

well, i guess people will like your song if its nice.
yea agree with fuzzmusick, perhaps do a demo
invite your friends to listen. that might help.

all the best ya.

Yeah MySpace and PureVolume are pretty good tools in promoting your band and music. Anyways what kind of genre are you playing?

thx for the comments so far. We play alternative/post-hardcore. Now we are moving on to abit of metal/rock.

probably fourtones. I met the producer before lol. Bought items from his last time. He's a softie. =X

well good luck men.normally if you have originals, just do like half of the set originals and the rest covers will do.or you could make the setlist all originals or all covers.it's really up to you.originals on web's that showcase your talent would be ideal for organizer to invite you.but you gotta start somewhere.maybe could try those diy gigs.
