tgm strats - are they really that bad?

as per topic, are tgm strats really that bad as people say? or are they decently well built?

and does anyone happen to know what wood they use for their bodies?
 
tgm = Tan Guan Ming guitars? Made in China rite? Its jst like an entry level guitar U find in all shops - just headstock and name diffirence

Always thought it meant "the guitar man" ... haha. But Tan Guan Ming sounds awesome! haha
 
TGM really means tan guan ming? all along i tot it means The Guitar Man too.. the company that makes the "vintage" acoustics which are suspiciously like kapoks
 
TGM is a china- based company i think but no-one knows cuz they dont have a site.
i used to own this strat copy that i bought for $70. i think it's price-worthy n the feel's not bad, but u can tell that it's made of low-grade wood.
 
lol i thought it was "The Guitar Man" too..hahaha thats wat it states in some of the guitars though o.O
