Tell me bout the blitzkrieg

Hi noob here,

Anyone has experiences to share about the blitzkrieg? Like how does it compare to other boosts like the ep booster?

Thanks in advance

I find it a great post (solo) boost after your drives to stand out in the mix. It fattens up and more importantly, doesnt insinuate unnecessary frequencies like a lot of boosters do. Compared to EP, i felt the ep was a little bit over the top for me and the blitz is more versitile with the gain and toggle switches. I personally prefer an EQ as a booster for solos though. You can set your exact EQ you want for your solo tone.

As a pre dirt boost, i didnt have as much fun. I wanted to use it as a "always on" boost a the beginning of my signal chain but i always got this booming sound from the amp like its pushing my amp too hard (imagine taking a 10w amp and maxing the volume and gain)

I thought i got a bad pedal so i sent it to goose to check. When he demo-ed my pedal infront of me, it sounded fucking amazing. It really enhances and fattens your tone. Think EP booster but not over the top. However, i got home and still got the same problem from the same pedal he tested earlier. I am guessing its my powersupply not having enough current. Im using a onespot and daisy chain.

Goose explained to me that this pedal is more lo-fi compared to EP which is more of a hi-fi boost.

Thanks for the explanation, it's very informative. More information would be nice. What's the exact signal chain? Should I put it after my drives before my delay and reverb? Or at the end of the whole chain?

What i used to have in my chain was:

Tuner -> wah -> overdrive -> distortion -> distortion -> boost -> chorus -> delay

Its up to you where you would want to place the boost. Some like it at the last, i like it right after my drives. Its up to individual preference. Some even place delay before drives, nothing wrong with that.

For your case, how "I" would do it is:
Drive -> boost -> delay -> reverb

Just think of which signal you want to affect the other. For example, talking about delay and distortion. Do you want to drive your delay signal? Or delay your drive signal?

Ok let me try to explain it. Lets use reverb and delay for eaiser reference.

Reverb before delay:
Your clean signals goes into the reverb pedal first. So, lets say you play a note, there is reverb effect on that note. This "reverbed note" then goes into the delay pedal and the delay pedal replicates this "reverbed note" multiple times. So you're getting a lot of that "reverbed note".

Delay before reverb:
Your clean signal goes into the delay pedal first. So, lets say you play a note, that clean signal note is repeated multiple times. These"repeated clean signals" then go into the reverb pedal and the reverb effect acts upon these notes.

There is a difference between the two. My explaination may not be very good haha.

So in this case, do you want to reverb the delayed clean signal notes or do you want to delay the clean signal reverbed notes.

Ok I think I kinda get it. Guess I would have to play around. Thanks for the advice nick, much appreciated. The more info the better

I like the blitzkrieg as a pre-drive boost. It somehow fattens my tone without adding the "sparkle" as compared to an EP(I use one for my post-drive) which seems to add a little treble when its on.

I arranged it that way after trying out the two pedals before and after my drive. So just play around with the arrangement of the pedal and see which way works for you more. =D

Just a little thought for consideration: does that mean you can get a Blitzkrieg, tweak its onboard EQ, and you can get it to sound like an EP Booster? The Blitz does appear to be more versatile. I've been searching for online demos of it but to no avail haha.

Junior:
Did you experience any boomy-ness when using the blitzkrieg as a preboost?

Vax:
Yeah there are no demos, I would post one but I am experiencing issues i think due to my power supply, so i dont want to post anything that will affect the real capabilities of the pedal :D

Didnt exactly experience any boominess. It sounds exactly like what my tone is like with the blitzkrieg off except with a little tiny wee bit of bass, if that's what you're referring to. But
its so subtle that I thought the pedal was not doing anything until I keep a/b-ing the on and off sound when I first got it.

I'm using a cioks schizo to power it if you're wondering. =D
