telecaster bridge

hey guys, i'm looking to buy a new bridge for my telecaster. the kind i'm looking for is basically similar to that of an american stand tele. the one with 6 individual saddles. would anyone know which shop might sell one?

something like this: http://www.wdmusic.com/tele_bridge_chrome_gtc201c.html

thanks again for your help folks =)

what do you mean by "basically similar"

You need to buy the exact replacement so that the hole allignment is correct. Otherwise, you might end up with filling up holes and redrilling.

Anyway, if you just looking for a non branded one, you can take a look at ranking sports. They have quite a good collection of cheap parts replacement. Minus the unfriendliness of similar shop in Peninsula :D

But if you are looking to buy Fender, better buy from this website:

Pay less than USD10 extra for shipping direct to singapore.

yeah i measured everything up, that bridge matches up to my measurements. just need to know where i can find one like that without the hassle of shipping

you can drop by ZEN Guitarworks for a good selection of tele replacement bridges. the graphite saddle version is a good consideration.

oh so they do stock them? coolness thanks sub =)

btw are they similar to the picture i showed? the one with 6 saddles instead of the usual 3 staddle tele bridges ?

they have both the 3-saddle/ 6-saddle versions. they have saddles-only replacement (brass/ graphite/ etc...) as well. i recently replaced my Tele saddles but it's of the classic 3 type.

bro, why are you replacing the bridge?

Hi would like to know if there is any difference between the 3 and 6 saddle bridges for the tele. Thinking of getting one so would like to know if the upgrade is for better or worse? Thanks

the 3-saddle version compromises intonation (shared movements)- this is the major set back. tele purists claim the 3-saddle (aka 'ash tray') unit gives more honk to the tele, the very reason country players swear by it.

the 6-saddle version allows a more accurate intonation & has a less pricky feel in terms of picking hand palm placement.

i prefer the 6-saddle version in terms of playing comfort & hears no particular tonal differences coming from either unit. only the saddle material would have a more prominent effect on tone. some stuff here: http://theguitaraddict.blogspot.com/2008/10/brass-experience.html

as ya said sub, better intonation and overall action adjustment =)

or you could use compensated saddles..the difference is rather distinct to my ears...have a set of brass comp saddles on one and 6 saddle bridge on others...

ahh so i just got the bridge changed, technically there wasnt much differnce i could hear tonally. but now, everything seems better, both action wise and intonation wise !
