hi,
I have a 12+year old clavinova cvp85a whose soundcard has gone bonkers. The sound patches give weird buzzing noises, alternating tones and speakers work only on 1 side. Same output from headphones.
So I dug out my old Roland SC sound module, connected midi and audio, and now it works like a digital piano once again, in stereo.
So I have an idea, can I switch the clavinova internal sound card to a more-current one? I read the current models have better quality piano sounds. I don't need any of the recording or accompaniment functions - just need a nice-sounding digital piano. Anyone knows if this is possible, and someone who can do it?
Although I can live with the current setup, the antique roland piano patch is not exactly the most natural-sounding, so it'll be nice if I can upgrade it. Also, the clavinova was one of the top end models when first launched and cost about 8k (it was a hand-me-down), plus the speakers give really nice sound, so it's really wasted to have to junk it.
