Heheh, I've been to their gigs once. Let's just say that I wouldn't be expecting much of a proper mosh pit seeing as how their repertoire is almost always mid-tempo material. Good stuff, just not moshable. =p

Hahah. That whole emo genre needs to be defined in the proper kind of context. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo_(music) Otherwise, a lot of genres including Top40 pop rock can fall under that category.

True that. Wiki can be inaccurate for most things cultural but as a first instance for information, it does the job.

Switchfoot's always been a pop rock sort of outfit, but the maturity in songwriting really came with the Beautiful Letdown release which also propelled them to the mainstream Top 40 circuit. San Diego surfer boys who made good. =)
