Swing R2 VS R2 Plus

Anyone knows if there's any difference between the 2 models besides the fact that the R2 plus has a flamed maple top and costs more?

wood pedigree will not affect tone as much as the weight of the wood itself. the more massive neck will help accentuate the bass frequencies but then again, some of us can't hear the difference.

i see. I guess I'll have to try them out first to see whether i can hear a diff. Workmanship wise should be the same right?

Getting! Most likely la. But going down on sun to test them out first. I had an offer on a american standard strat on TGP, but after shipping, it amounted to 960SGD, way out of my means.

Sigh... financial life of a student..

bro! maybe u wanna ask the guys at the store if they have the R3 model. Tried the P3 and its pretty impressive; H-S-H with built in coil split for both hums, so its pretty versatile. Last i asked about the R3, they said they had it at the woodlands branch, but it'll set u back by 640 if im not wrong... Perhaps you shld try that out?

cool. watch the crowd on weekends. i was there on a week-day so there was much room for trying & choosing- less crowded. might just pop by SVG again one of these days, he he...

My current guiar is already HSH, with coil taps. But cannot get a 'true' single coil tone. Moreover I dont like single coil tone at bridge position, so HSS is the way to go for me!!

Thanks for informing me anyways, I'll probably still try it out. hehe.

Can't decide whether to get the R2 or R2 plus! The flamed maple top is attractive but then again, I already have a guitar with that. Hmmm

Subversion bro let me know when you're going down!! haha can be my 2nd pair of ears:D Hmm, if that's the case might go down today cos work ends earlier..

Tried the r2 today, quite a nice feel to it, pups were decent but I would defintely change them in the future. Old thing that it had a slight issue was that tuning took quite a while to stabalise. Abt 5-10mins. Other than that no complains, great guitar! Have yet to try the r2 plus yet though.

Yes I believe so, I guess the piece had not been played for a while. Could that be the source of that problem? Oh and the salesman introduce the tuners as grover tuners when they were gotoh tuners... but lets not get too picky, no one's perfect hahaha
