i'm totally convinced when i start working, my first paycheck will be spent on a lakland *drool*

er.. first paycheck on a lakland instead of buying your parents a good dinner to thank them for putting you through school and bringing you up? good job man..

On a sidenote people, anyone knws if there is any difference between an american standard p bass and an american p bass? Apparently a check shows up that this are two different models altogther? maybe fender just changed the name of the american standard to american p bass recently?

Hope to hear you opinions :D

hmm... i tot american pbass = american standard pbass? i think they just changed the name of it somewhere before the 2nd last model or during it.

if i'm not wrong, fender will just come out with some changes on their basses every few years or so, the last few changes being in '98, '01/'02(?), and '05. So 50 years down the road, you can go tell pple "ay, i have an '01 vintage jazz bass" sort of thing. hopefully it still works that way in the future just like it does now 'tho..

Yeah, the new ones have a switch. I heard the bridge PUs are also nearer to the bridge? Thus giving a more growly sound.

I personally would do with a Lakland with that kinda money. :D

how much is lakland? but one thing i dont like is the nut width, only 1.6" ...i prefer 1.625" which is p bass width, nice n biggy

Haha. My hands small, so i prefer smaller nuts ( ala J Bass ). P bass , although sturdy in my hands, makes me stretch quite a bit in the 1st position especially.
