Hi guys, I am in a dilemma. I'm looking to swap my stock pups out of my Ibanez to DiMarzios. So far, I've tried the following configurations at one time or another in my guitars:
1) Fred-HS2-PAF Pro
2) Tone Zone-PAF Pro
3) Steve's Special-Air Norton
4) Complete Evo set
5) Complete Breed set
So far, these configurations have served their purpose at one point or another. For my RG550, I want something that sounds awesome with dirt, with good sustain and artficial harmonics. At the same time, it should also clean up well when my volume knob is brought down. I was thinking of going back to Tone Zone-True Velvet-Air Norton ala J Custom but if memory serves me right, artificial harmonics for the TZ is not so responsive. It led me thinking about the other DiMarzio pups available that I haven't tried yet like the Crunch Lab and the Liquifire.
Can anyone give me some input to point me in the right direction? Thanks!
