Strymon blue sky on 200mA?

Which power supply? If it's a single wall wart with only 200mA output, probably not. But a power supply like Cioks DC10 with a 200mA outlet has some margin to provide more than 200mA (DC10 outlets 5 and 6 are confirmed to power up Strymons). PP2+ (not PP2) is also able to power the blueSky.

i suggest u not to try doing so , it may burn out the power supply. if you are using some form of isolated power supply perhaps u may wanna try to combine two channels to double the current draw to meet the required amperage.

you must use the right type to cable for stacking 2 power supplies. one type(series connection) will double the voltage while a parallel connection will double the current.

if not you may just wanna get a biyang power supply or some other power supply that can handle 250mA

I've got a pp2+ but my outputs 5-6 are taken for nova mod and nova delay... But I hav outputs 3 and 4 free... So my max is 200mA :(

I heard courtesy outlets drains nearly all the current from the power supply leaving little current in the supply itself... Means can't use power hungry pedals, only those boss 9V, low current pedals. Besides I doubt I can fit the adaptor into the access hole in the PT-2 to reach the outlet...

wow u certainly have a hell of current hungry pedals on your board dude !! lol

you may try to measure your strymons current output by using the article above, but this method may not indicate the actual current output of your pedal when you are using the pedal as the DSP may take up more current when processing the sound signal

That's not true, in fact Voodoo Labs staff frequently state you can plug in a power strip into the courtesy outlet, so that you can connect even more individual adapters. If you check the manual, there is a warning to not plug in your amp, that's all. Basically don't plug in anything ridiculous, but the courtesy outlet can easily handle a few more pedals.

You can get a compact power strip like that http://www.amazon.com/Monster-MP-OTG400-BK-Outlets/dp/B000F9YN2M/

Haha! Not really, just a nova mod, nova delay and a blackstar ht dist which I run on the adaptor. The blackstar eats up like 1000mA + ? Killer man!

Nicec article! however, the Strymon BSR doesn't run on a battery...

Oh I see... But I don't have space place a power strip on my board. It would be good if I am able to test out the current draw from the BSR .

If the BSR is underpowered, you will have to expect malfunctioning. I accidentally swopped the outlets on my DC10 and the BSR started turning on and off on its own. Swopped back to the higher current output and all's back to normal.

I went from a PP2+ to a DC10 to power my pedals. Currently on board - Timeline, BSR, Diamond Comp running at 18V, Timmy, KOT, HBOD. All running great.

U swapped it to 200mA ? Because what I know is that usually the recommended mA is about 50mA higher. Like if a pedal runs on 300mA , they would recommend 330 or 350mA, but 300mA can still run the pedal.

Ya, like said, I accidentally swooped the cables. After swopping it back, pedal worked as per normal.

200mA doesn't work for me. I've had 3 strymons.. the BSR, El Cap and the Timeline. They all worked great at home with the BBE supaCharger at 200mA, but the second I played a gig or anything they would continually cut out during the show.. So I had a bring a 1spot specially for them heh.

With the Cioks DC10 I had no issues though..
