Hey there thanxx for troublin yurselves n takin a look at this msg..i was just wondering wud it be better if i put acoustic guitar strings on an acoustic guitar or wud an electric guitar string be better?..n whats a good beginner guitar that costs not more than 200 bucks??thanxx..

Why would anyone put an electric guitar string on an accoustic? U dont trust the strings that came with your guitar?

You shouldn't put electric strings into your acoustic guitar. Electric strings are probably too light for your acoustic and even though it may seem easier to play, there may be truss rod problems developing later on as the force of the truss rod pulling back is greater than the counterforce from the strings, the guitar's neck may warp.

I belive that Acoustic strings are specifically made for acoustic guitars, to be tonally rich etc. Whereas Electric guitar strings are optimized for your magnetic pick-ups and doesn't need to have great tone "acoustically".

So juz stick some acoustic strings into your acoustic guitar, that'll work fine

Truss rods can always be adjusted accordingly, ask a friend who's familiar with guitars to help you adjust ur truss-rod when you see ur neck having some warppage (like a bow etc).

Cheers

Acoustic strings come in different gauges or diameters.
To get real good tone and volume from an acoustic, you'll need at least a 012 gauge for the 1st string. Jazz players usually go for heavy strings such as 015 which is richer in tone, especially bass. Use at least a 010 if you want a decent acoustic tone. Electrics are usually in the range of 008 - 009 which is simply to weak to resonate the sound box.

usually the high e, b and g( first 3 strings) of the acoustic and electric should not have much different(do correct me if iam wrong). Its the wounded 3 strings that are different between the electric set and the acoustic set. As for jazz box, most player would prefer flat wound for it. For electric, the string gauge used for the e,b and g strings are usually the preference of the player, some prefered 008 gauge wheras its also possible to use 009-013 for the high e, a good medium wud be 010 for the electric as 009 or 008 can be rather flimsy, imho
