Strings for small guitars

I heard that small body guitars like the Baby Taylor should only be stringed with light gauge strings on account of their shorter neck length and strength. Is that true?

What constitutes light gauge then? Are 10-46s okay? Or 9-42s? Becos I have one and am thinking of using 10s or 11s...

Anyone can help?

baby taylor's if not mistaken come from the factory with 12 gauge.
electric light and acoustic light are obviously different.

please dont tell me you cant play the baby taylor with factory strings.

11s should still work on a baby taylor, but 10s might not hold tune properly in standard E.

when I got it, the person had been using 9s on it! I think that's like too light right?

Normally for acoustics I like 11s or 12s, dats why wanted to find out. Thanks Everdying!

how the heck did that guy managed to stay in tune using 9 gauge? short scale somemore must feel like rubber bands.
