Hey guys. I've been looking for a brand of strings that makes this set of string gauges. Any brand is fine as long as they carry what I'm looking for.
e - 9.5
b - 12
g - 16
d - 24
a - 34
E - 44
B - 54
Why 9.5? I personally find 9s a little floppy. 10s are great but my fingers do get tired after a while. Since I've been using 10s for years, people can say things like "you've been using gauge 10 for so long & it feels comfortable, why bother changing?" . It is true that I'm used to them but that does not mean I can play for 4 hours straight without feeling any form of strain.
Many well known brands do carry 9.5 - 44 for regular guitars but they don't seem to carry the 7 string version. I could grab the 6 string pack and buy a separate gauge 54 string but I feel that is a little impractical considering the fact that the 7th string itself could cost me around $4 (which IMO is a little too much).
I'm not being a cheapskate here. I just feel that it is not practical to go through such lengths for an ideal set of strings.
Please provide me with some recommendations. If this particular set of strings is non existent, I would have no choice but to stick with 10s. Thanks in advance .
