Strings breaks easily on GSA 60

Thought of posting this for a while already, does anyone else here experience this? My strings breaks easily on my GSA 60 with a SAT 30 bridge and it always breaks at the point where the string is bend at a 90 degrees due to stringing it through the trem.... I wonder if its a common thing on all wilkinson styled trems or is the SAT 30 just lousy?

There could be a rough edge somewhere around, or lack of lubrication, or, you simply play too hard. Why don't you try lubricating the saddles and nut with some pencil lead(flake graphite, natural lubricant)?

sharp string saddle edges are remote cases, it's not about the SAT bridge being lousy. even Stevie Ray (RIP) had this problem with his strat. his tech had to attach wire isulation to the area where the string meets the saddles to prevent string snapping during play & we know that SRV whammies like there's no tomorrow. the blue bits seen in the pic below are the wire insulation i am refering to:

from what ya said....most likely sounds like a burr at the saddle's point of contact with the string. Either like what other softies have suggested with the lead thingy.....or if u're definite that its a burr in the saddle....maybe a replacement saddle will be much more cost saving in the long run but i'm not sure if there are aftermarket replacements for the SAT30.

Newguy: SRV's a true blue righty...as for the orientation of his bridge for the tremolo bar on the opp side, im not really sure but maybe he felt it's more easier and accessible to him?

anyway about string breakage. well i snapped 3 strings once on my prs. thought it to be lousy strings or high tension. but due to the way i play, i enjoy whacking really hard n bending the strings agressively the saddles had grooves cut into them. esp since they r nickel. so i got replacement graphtech saddles and ive not broken the thinner strings ever since considering the fact tt i only change strings every 2-3 months. haha. well u could get ur fix at maestro. they sell pretty much all the diff sizes of graphtech saddles. hope this helps.

SRV had a custom bridge + whammy with the bar on top, that was what he always played. He mentioned in an interview that it was easier for him to access.

sometimes it could be due to the saddle, uneven footing. Maybe you have tried to increase or decrease the action, therefore while tuning the saddles, it went a bit slanted..

happens to one of my students bridge, strings kept breaking.. check it out and see how it goes...

cheerios
