what the best setting for string height? are they will effect the sound of the guitar if i set it too high or too low, could anybody tell me...

too low u will develop fretbuzz, too high it becomes awkward to play. for me i set the action to as low as possible without fretbuzz.

the best action (string height with reference to the frets) is the one that works for you 8-)

a high action is necessary for players using thicker gauged strings to prevent excessive fret buzzing. however, if the action is too high, it becomes difficult to play, lethargy sets in & you make lots of mistakes.

i set my action as low as possible, some buzzing could be herad on some of my guitars but as long as these do not manifest through the amp, it's acceptable.

eh

if i'm not wrong when change the action by a lot you also have to change the string length at the bridge by turning the screws. or else intonation will be a bit off.

there's no best settings, it all depends on individual preference.
Ibanez's factory action is 1.7mm for the topmost string, 1.5mm for the smallest string. Measured at the 12th fret.

For me, I prefer about 1.25mm and 1mm respectively. I like my action relatively low.

I read somewhere that Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) uses low action when recording, but high action (2mm+) when playing live.
