String does matter?

i tots its as long as its the same notes? besides playing at the 2nd string will make it easier to plae rite? cuz its nearer to ur body.

If I understood your question correctly... Sometimes when a vocalist records in a studio, the vocal range needed for some songs, though reachable, may be uncomfortable for him/her. So when it comes to concerts, the instrumentalists may go flat or sharp to accomodate to the vocalist.

hmm...i believe coz of tone..
as u can bend the second string like crazy...
unlike the high E ...where it can easily break...

did i answer u correctly?this is a trick question...

What i mean was .. what is the different of for e.g the 5th fret of 4th string (A)and the open string of 3rd string (A)

BASS.

yeah the tone is diff wad, open string give brighter sound wad right?, n plus i mean depends on the song wad, sometimes don play open string is easier wad... n sometimes is harder lo...

yep tone is different. unless ur bass has a zero fret installed. (which its purpose is to even out all the notes. u like it or u hate it.)

LOL.. sorry .. i just had to try this...

correct wad.. differen fret or open string gives different tone wad.. according to song also wad.. sometimes you need to do open string wad.. but sometimes must fret the note wad..

palm mute sounds better on lower strings. I think a palm muted A on the e string sounds alot better than the A on the open A string
