String cleaner and lubricant

Hello, i am currently using the D'Andrea String cleaner and lubricant. How often do you people use such lubricants? EVERYtime before you play and after you play? What is recommended?

I usually dont use lubricant so I cant help ya there. String cleaning? I do it every day after I'm done playing by wiping the strings down with string cleaning - cloth.

Im using some lousy Kyser string cleaner... the one where u muz spray on a cloth and wipe... haha. for the cloth im using my sch pe shirt :lol:

anw i've been looking out for the GHS fast fret, heard that can juz wipe on without having to spray on a cloth. however it seems to be out of stock everywhere... lol.

I use Stringlife which can be bought at Maestro guitars. I apply it on the strings right after I restring and I find it to prevent any rusting from occuring. Even after the string goes dead it still looks new.

I still believe in the good ol clean cloth string wipe down after use. No need for fancy accessories since it works well

Hmm i assume you know the way to Davis at penin. From the entrance of davis(facing the shop), head left all the way. You'll go down this path with the wooden ramp and right in front you should see a yellow guitar light sign. That's guitar connection. Walk furthur, and you'd see Maestro on the right. Maestro's neighbours would be Guitar77, Luthermusic etc. Just do some exploring hehe, you can't get lost at penin.

i used fast fret for a while but then i found out that it tends to make the string rust faster :? and also it leaves stains on my frets 8O . after that stopped.

anyone had the same problems?

i oso use the fast fret, pretty useless tho, dunno whether i have really acidic prespiration or wad, but mi strings rust quite fast, even when i apply fast fret everyday

I hate using the GHS Fast Fret too! I tried it in an attempt to prolong my string life, but it gives the strings a sleeky oily and waxy feel which i don't really like. I've got a friend on the other hand who swears by it.

I had the same problems with it so I stopped using it.

So what do you guys recommend for a string conditioner?

Wash your hands before you eat.
Dry your hands before shredding.

I dont "condition" my strings par se.

I just play em, wipe em down, and thats it.

Those DR strings can last me about 3 months before they get kinda wasted. Pretty darned durable. For me, anyway.
