Steinberger Trans Trem

Does anyone have any experience with the Steinberger Transtrem? As in tuning it while using the calibrated double ball strings?

Also, did anyone have experience with maintenance or repair of the thing?

Thanks for the info. I've just bought a newburg GP, but it will only arrive next week.

I'm quite worried about the reliability of the transtrem - seems very rare, complicated, lots of wear & tear parts, and expensive to replace.

Just hoping to find if anyone has worked with the actual thing locally.

I have a GM series
the transtrem is quite problem free
use double ball end strings
these are 'calibrated' and will give less transposing problems.

you cannot do those dive bomb till string totally flapping loose floyd rose thingy : )

with normal whammy, the thing should last a life time.
