Stairway to heaven solo

I photocopied the stairway to heaven score(there's tab included too) and during around 6.15mins into the song, there's this lick that keeps repeating itself.

The tab says 2nd string 13-15, then there's this little curve that goes upwards which points to 1, then back to 2nd string(15)13 ,3rd string 14, 2nd string 13 -15.

Anyone knows how to play this? So far it doesn't sound right to me.

Btw, are scores 100% accurate? :)

the score is correct... you just need to find the timing if i'm not wrong.

play 13, hammer to 15 and bend immediately, then play 14 and repeat. Listen for the exact playing.

i myself can't get that part nailed down too. :(

not all scores are 100% correct.

yes.

most of the time the scores are tabbed by people who are proficient in playing note for note.

however, it's not always on the same string that the musician plays. for example,

E--1
B---

can also be

E---
B--6

it doesn't seem to make any difference just reading this... however, as much as a tabber can replicate the notes and its accompaning embellishments on the note accurately, imo he probably cannot capture this aspect.

which might be important, since some players don't balance their bass/mid/highs evenly. So the final sound you get is slightly different.

as a real life example, ritchie blackmore clarified that "smoke on the water" was not played with open strings, but fretted at 5th fret, and plucked with fingers rather than strummed. whether he's messing with our heads thou is another thing :p

I'm no expert on Led Zep and their songs, but I do believe the MOST important point of nailing any of Page's solos... would be the style he plays it in... a kind of almost-sloppish-yet-dripping-with-attitude style.

My 2 cents... :)

sometimes the notes are correct..but who knows u play it with the wrong feel =) my 2cents

Hmmm... It is quite obvious if you don't follow a song's feel... like say, you go shred out Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight solo.. that will be so totally wrong if you are trying to cover it. But on the other hand, if you lay off the vibrato and tasteful bends... then, that is also going to miss the point of covering that song..
