Squier MIJ Jazz Bass

Hey guys, I've just got a Squier MIJ jazz bass online from a dude for 200 bucks and i wanna know how valuable is it? is it comparable to the old fenders? because i heard that 'made in japan' squiers are a rare bird. Im a sucker at bass cause im just starting so please be patient. thanks!

How old is it? Serial number would be useful

It depends - you're probably referring to the Squier JV series. If your serial number starts with JV - you've just scored a very sweet deal.

From what I know, there's only one Squier JV jazz bass in SG at the moment but I have no idea who owns it.
