Sony Condenser Mic ECM MS907 Problems

Hi peeps at SOFT ,

I need some help with a Sony Condenser Mic ECM MS907.I borrowed it from a friend and i changed it's battery.I plug it's jack into my Macbook audio input and attempted to record something but apparently nothing happens when i do so.

Despite turning on the power for the mic , i can't seem to use it to record.I used different DAWs and recorded and try to change the input source but apparently it only seems to be able to use/read the inbuild internal microphone for the mac.The power doesn't light up when i turn it the mic on too.

can someone please help with this?

troubleshooting in your situation is :
power don't light up when you turn on the mic on its own = maybe screwed.

take that mic, plug into your friend's (PC/laptop) = if works, then your macbook's input's screwed or some settings on your mac is not allowing your macbookmic to give way to the input. and yes that's screwed.

if doesn't work = the mic's screwed. if you take another working mic and put on your friend's laptop and doesn't work = your friend's laptop also screwed.

maybe everything's screwed too. screwed days like that just happen.
