hi, i just got a lp. But the frets hav some brown thing on it. Not sure if its rust or algae, i think rust. Any idea what is it and how to remove it? It makes bend/vibrato Very rough.

any diy shop should sell a tube of it.cant remeber how much it cost tho.sorry about that part.if possible avoid touching the fretboard when wiping.if not the solution will get stuck between the grains.

not touching the fret board is gonna be hard lol.. patience ! ok i will try that , thanks Dime =)

oh yeah 1 more thing, if i use autosol on Gold PLATED hardware .. will the gold fade?

Did you mention you just got it rite?Brand new?If so why not send back to the guitar shop where you buy and ask them to take a look at it.....

If you dont want it to touch the frettboard use masking tape....that helps.Tape it as close to the fret wire as possible....i wouldn't recommend polishing the gold plated hardware though...

forgot to mention , i got it 2nd hand.

will braso work the same?

You should have inspect it closely before getting it....anyhow..

No do not use these household cleaners on the hardwares, fretboards etc etc....its not meant for guitars! If you wanna use a lil of the autosol on the fretwire...fine but too much is not good dude...

You could also masking-tape the fretboard just before and after that fret to prevent the fretboard from coming in contact with the polishing oil (:

use non adhesive masking tape. I heard the normal adhesive ones might damage your fretboard.
