No need lesson lah. Simple google or wiki enough. My girlfriend asks me teach her guitar. First thing I did was to teach her the parts of the guitar. She memorized within like ten-twenty minutes.

What guitar is it? Like what shape? Maybe it'll be easier for us to help you then.
@theunknown: Hmm, just wondering, if the guitar is a Les Paul/Explorer/some other retarded shape, then, wouldn't different diagrams be needed? Just my two cents.

jumpin'jellybean: That's why I'm trying to encourage TS and some other beginners to take their own initiative and do alil themselves first before/when asking for help. In this case, wouldn't it be best if TS posts the pictures of his/her guitar? I'm giving an example hoping to lead by example. I'm not gonna find all the diagrams and posts as I'm not the one asking for help here.

Its machine heads + tremolo arm + fine tuner .

if beginners can't ask questions here, then what is this forum and sub-section for?

telling rookies to google is akin to telling students to learn to do maths by reading their textbooks, cannot ask teacher. then what are teachers and schools for?

Alright let's help deuter... I think trem arm can be bought at Davis and Guitar Connection at peninsula. Or By Left at Parklane Shopping Centre. Never checked. Although i'm positive Davis has it. Give them a call. Tuning machines as well. As for the fine tuners i'm not sure.

It's like if you need help, you need to put in effort also. You can't expect to be spoonfed from start till end right?

She doesn't even know the parts and her description of them is like way off.. I mean at least google it and get the name of the parts correct , that makes it easier for people to help her. Whatver that is within her ability.. she shud have done it. As for the replacing of the parts she mentioned.. that's our duty to advise her as senior guitarists amiriteorwrong.

Just sharing my opinion.

Happy new year!

By the way TS, those parts can be found in most guitar shops. Try the area around city hall. Bras Basah Complex and Peninsula Shopping Centre. You can find what you want there. Or just buy 2nd hand from fellow softies here.

In a school, teachers say "Ok guys, turn to page 69 and read. Then I'll go through." Teachers don't read the text for you. The issue I addressed basically needs reading and researching skills. TS simply needed to look for a guitar diagram. Sometimes we have to differentiate our roles. Teacher? Or facilitator?

deuter: The part you referred to as fine tuners, are saddles.
(van_halen: I'm a teacher here, marking. As a facilitator, I can say: The student here can google "guitar saddle" for the definition ;) )
