Some comments on Lace sensors...

Hi all,

I know this has been discussed time and again. But I'm currently sorta upgrading my strat... I'm stuck with two lace sensor models... They are:

1) Holy Grails which gives me the vintage 54' tone(output is about 10.7k for neck and mids and 11.5k for the bridge)

2) Hot Gold Sensors which has a slightly higher output bridge of 13.2k and 6k for neck and mids...

It's for the standard 60th anniv strat. Music I play range from blues to pop to rock/hard rock. So I guess I need some advice on which might suit me more since both also quite similar cept' for the output of the neck & mids...

Thanks!!

btw, i'm kinda looking for that vintage strat tone w/o the hum and with slightly higher output when i play with drives and stuff....

seems like Hot Gold Lace is for u... coz u play a lot of variety sounds. The Holy Grail maybe is nice, but seems hardly to plays hard rock kind of music.

But I prefer Kinman than Lace Sensor if u want SCoil w/out hum... but hard to get this in Singapore. Must online order.

i'd say go for the holygrails, cuz i'm using em in the excat same guitar. there's this connection between alder bodies and lace sensors that make em sound really good, oh and dont wry about the tone you can get, i play a myraid of genres too, but mostly rock and it suits everything i've ever played to a tee, except metal. and it's noiseless too..

Ok Zac, just wondering if say i drive the grails with two gain pedals would the pups take it well? How about it clean? does it give the classic strat twang? cause the neck and mids's output seems abit high compared to a normal fender pups which is about 5k++

2 gain pedals i'm not too sure, but stacking amp gain and gain from another pedal then yeah it does it pretty well.

clean wise, the twang IS there. very funky sorta twangish sounding thing similar to jamiroquai's - love foolsopy.

but then again, it all depends on your amp and it's settings, i can say it twangs cause i run it through a jc 120, but on other amps it might be a tad different but what you get, is a sweet sounding strat, i'll vouch for that
