Smash S2 Lite vs Ibanez GRG121

I'd say Smash S2.

Design: The Smash S2 is a Stratocaster copy, which is a design you can find in almost any genre of music. The GRG has an aggressive look which only fits hard rock and heavy metal music.

Tonal versatility: The Smash S2 has one humbucker and two singlecoils, so you can get quite a variety of tones out of it as opposed to the GRG having two humbuckers. I personally have an Ibanez with the same pickup configuration as the Smash S2 and I can get a lot of tones from it!

Price: The Smash S2 is cheaper than the Ibanez, and since the Smash has a good reputation here... I'd say you can't really go wrong with it.

smash S2 as well.

having owned a GRG (still does, but have been retired), it is likely that one might find the GRG sound rather generic. and as mentioned by EugeneSmasher, the shape is rather aggresive.

smash, on the other hand, sounds surprisingly good for a guitar in such price range. tried it a couple of times, and the sound is not as generic (it has its own sound) and quite versatile (credit to the single coil at the neck and humbucker at the bridge).

so, smash, yeap2.

oh, but smash is relatively less known as compared to ibanez, so owning one might attract the 'what cheap brand is that? confirm not good" comments from those not in the know
