I’m a singer-songwriter who’s branching into just playing keys for bands to gain more confidence as a performer. I don’t have an amazing keyboard but I have a Yamaha P-225 which is considered decent enough for gigs. I literally need to purchase a keyboard stand and gig bag as I have no experience playing live. I would say I’m not bad as a player but lack confidence in general. I do write my own song and lyrics as well but I’m not really looking to join bands as a singer atm. I can come up with stuff but just not immediately on the spot. It takes a bit of noodling to get my ideas out but I have a decent ear and a good sense of rhythm. I am trained in Indian vocals so I can pick up odd time signatures pretty well.
