Hi Guys!

Been wanting to upgrade to a new acoustic for awhile, and been having my eyes on some Simon & Patrick Woodland Cedar/Spruce guitars.

Anyone tried/bought them before? mind giving me an opinion?
Please do direct me to any useful reviews u know of or anything :)

P.S. yay! first ever thread started!

I think S&P guitars are very value-for-money. They're not expensive (below $1K), yet they are made in Canada. I tried a dreadnought and a jumbo, and they were both really sweet guitars and very well made. They really do feel handcrafted.

But take care of the guitar well. Have at least a pack of silica gel inside the guitar and regularly change the silica gel pack. Keep the guitar in the case when you're not playing it. I've heard that other Canadian guitars (Seagulls, etc) develop problems in this climate.

There are a couple of reviews of S&P guitars that you can search on Guitar4christ. However, like Eugenesmasher mentioned, the climate difference can take a toll on the guitar.

OOO... thanks man.

But then again how does one go about making their room less humid? haha...
Think this type of singaporean weather very Jia lat leh. i seem to find the parts of my guitars rusting easily.
& its rly a chore to be keeping the guitar in and out of its bag/casing every single day when you are playin it.

anyone got any fine ideas?

what most people who own alot of expensive guitars will suggest is to buy a dehumidifier which will cost around $300 to $500 or more, can be found in like carrefour, best, courts, or Maestro http://soft.com.sg/forum/maestro-bulletin/152955-your-guitar-needs-some-lovin.html , http://www.way-technovation.com/promotion.htm, or http://www.mjhub.biz/?p=3739 etc.

but most pple don't usually on it 24/7, perhaps it's only a weekly routine, to reduce the swelling of the guitar "belly" where the bridge is attached, so it's still best to keep it in a bag, perhaps with a few packets of zorb-it (http://soft.com.sg/forum/maestro-bulletin/134353-zorb-introduction-mini-review.html ; http://www.bgwguitars.com/data/acczorbit.htm )

nice...

thats rly useful information, think i will check zorb-it out. it rly seems effective...

Thanks so much for ur effort! rly appreciate it.

time to go check those S&P guitars WOo HOO! :)
