Short tune!

it's been a long time since someone's posted his own recording here.

playing = good.

production = good. love the last part.

recording = decent. clean.

mix = level balance wise I would make the guitars just a little louder, but otherwise levels are good, but overall sounds a little raw.

what are you using? guitars sound like line6 hehe sounds pushed back. drums though, sound a little bit fake/programmed, either that the drummer hits very constant strength and has a metronome shoved up his butt. j/k hehe.

sorry I don't mean any offence, but being bored at work makes my ears and fingers a little itchy so I played around with your mix :

ooo!!!! is there an engineers forum? I'd love to show all of you my sweet drums recording sounds and see what ya'll think. Hehe, but how to put here man?? Ok if you have good headphones or speakers, listen to the track, on this link, www.myspace.com/theexxit , and listen to the song , TheExxit, its my bands song and its my recording, mixing and mastering.

oh, it sounds quite okay actually, maybe a little weak in my opinion, i could be biased cos i'm more on the rock / distortion guitars side. snare/kick sounding like yours would get drowned if it were heavy distortion guitars, but because it's mild gain guitars, would cut through easily. but it's quite "The Cure" sounding heheh. how come no vocals though?

lately the kind of bands I record :

screamo stuff is the "in" thing lately.

Hey, thanks for listening.
Any comments are welcomed :)

blueprintstudios : i'll listen to what you did later.The programmed drums and Line6 are so obvious eh?

Damn! i can't play music from myspace. You guys have any of your track elsewhere?

Muxis : haha , actually the DI-SimCab (simulated cabinets) guitars and programmed drums is not obvious to most normal consumers, just that for me I recorded amps/DI-SimCab guitars lots of times before, so i know. even for the drums, to you probably "snare" = "snare" , to me snare = "T-UNK! ..."
T = attack
UNK = resonance
.... = room

hearing to every snare hit inside your mix , they're almost identical. so thats what gives way. but who cares, it sounds good, audience love "polished" stuff.

you can hear my mixes @ www.purevolume.com/blueprintstudios click [download] , don't stream.
rika's one of my latest works. as you can hear the mix in there. 1) it's line6 guitars too, but using my friend's line6 pod xt pro 2) the snare's attack is triggered, however, I retained the resonance and room. so keeping abit of life.

if you wanna hear just purely no-trigger, download the 20 Dischanger - Solitary (Demo), my old bedroom recording in 2004.
that one the guitars are line6 also, but using my old pod 2.0. but the drums are purely recorded.

Sallys - Lady Marmalade guitars recording uses a Behringer Vamp 2.0 (line6 pod 2.0 copy)

now that you've heard all 3. don't you feel they somehow sound similar to your guitar recording? heheh.

keep it up dude
