Need abit of help here, Im interested in this guitar from Musiciansfriend, its a fender tele. it says $845 USD sale price.

Has anyone ever purchased from Musicians Friend. How much does shipping cost and how fast does it take to get here.

i thought musician's fiend doesnt ship directly to singapore? you might want to check the website in depth before you get your hopes up...theres always vpost though.

oh. yeah. looks like they dont ship overseas. Does anyone have any websites to recommend which ship to sg?

im not exactly sure how this goes. but u can save on shipping if its shipped within US. theres this singpost or wadeva thing that works lyk their office in the US receives ur item, then they ship over for u for a small sum.

+1 to VPOST

ordered a valve junior head from MF, and shipped here by VPOST.
take 1 week for MF to ship to VPOST, another week from VPOST to my place.

if u have UOB credit/debit, you get 20%( i think) off for shipping.

ratboy,

if i remebered correctly, the shipping back here is about S$90 after the UOB discount.

the amp is okay.. except u have to change the PT tap to make it work here (voltage diff) and you should be prepared to do a few mods..the stock amp has very low gain, high signal loss and a flabby bass end response (not THAT bad)

i find it sound better than my marshall AVT20 even in stock condition. so i think i can "milk" more out of it with a few resistor change and new tubes..

I bought an Epiphone Goth LP Studio from Musician's Friend via Amazon.com, just arrived yesterday.

To buy from Musician's Friend, you will need a vPost account (http://www.vpost.com.sg). vPost will give you a US address to send your items to.

What happened with me was, I ordered the guitar from Amazon.com (I hava an Amazon account, so it makes things easier, because all my shipping and billing info is already recorded), where Musician's Friend is a reseller. After the order, you can track your package through Amazon, and Musician's Friend will also email you once the item is delivered to your US address (delivery from US is free after a certain amount ordered from Musician's Friend, Amazon charges about US$20). Once delivered to the US address, you need to pay the shipping charges at vPost, then you can track your package from the vPost website.

My guitar was ordered on 24th March, delivered to the US address 30th March, arrived 10 April.

After adding up the costs (guitar + shipping + vPost insurance charges), the guitar is about SGD$100+ cheaper than SL!

Shipping charges are at SGD$12.99 for the first kilogram, SGD$8.99 for each subsequent kilogram. So you can estimate your shipping cost if you know the weight of your item. Books, CDs and DVDs have a different shipping price system. But it's likely you won't be able to bring in amps, because speakers are listed as a prohibited item to Singapore.

If your item is above 400sgd, I believe you need to pay 5% GST on the CIF value as well...yea?

CIF = Cost, Insurance, Freight.

halo, do you know how much u had to pay for insurance on your guit? (you might want to let me know the amt that u insured the guit for as well)

thanks!

Hey , you intend to get the guitar direct?
Cause i intend to do so first. - Gibson BFG
maybe can bring in together - but need to do more home work.. first

I don't remember seeing the GST component anywhere in the payment (may be included in the shipping charges).

Here's the price breakdown if it helps:

Goth LP Studio (from Musician's Friend): USD$299.99
Delivery Charge to US address (from Amazon): USD$12.75
sub-total in SGD: SGD$483.95
Delivery Charge to SG via vPost: SGD$236.98 (weight of package 21.3kg + insurance premium SGD$32.50 for fragile goods)
Grand total: SGD$720.93

About 40 dollars cheaper than Swee Lee discounted price for the same model.

Also, vPost advises to consolidate your order to save on shipping, so it may be better if you want to bring in more guitars (like consolidate orders from others). Give vPost a call to ask if the GST component is included in the shipping charges.

You might want to check with Sweetwater.com as HarrisonYeo says. If it's slightly more expensive but you can get a price total + shipping that's lower than buying from Musician's Friend, you should go for the Sweetwater deal. I also heard they are super-friendly.

Depends on how much you're willing to pay, and how important you are as a customer as well. Depends shop to shop.

Regards to such information pertaining to shops, it would be better off for you to to direct questions to the shop/distributor you are looking at.
