Shine guitars

anyone tried? Look gd in built n finish... Yeah i know that they bring them in, but tot not v gd to list their link here, since its a retail site... Wait pple think i work for them

Think im gg down to try them since they r close to my work place. Some comes fitted with EMGs n SD pups.

Just hope the price is not more than 600+ hehe

Yo i tested some of the guitars. 1stly, let me say that the owner of the shop is v friendly. They allowed me to try the guitar, n didnt even hard sell any products. They didnt even presure me like u wanna buy if not get lost...

Now for the Shine, Looks v gd, HOWEVER... I think the makers build the guitars to look like PRS/Carvin but not feel or sound like them. The neck doesnt feel comfortable, and the fretboard feels v dry. When i strum really hard, u cant feel the body of the guitar vibrating much. I dont know where the tone died at... Price ranging from 400-over 1k.

I tried a SG with bigsy, n the wiring was done opposite, where the rythym was the bridge pup n lead the neck...

Overall, u will get better deals with the lower end ibanez in terms of playability and feel. Shine is really all abt finishing to me, is that why they r named shine?

hope that helped

are the ones you tried the new series? or the 2004 ones listed on their website?

shine used to be the factory epiphone outsourced to until they moved from Korea to China. (and ya, to another Korea factory)

the main thing about them is that while their worksmanship is above decent, their designs are quite bad (horrible imo) other than the 2005 models (which features teles :))

don't know much about the ones you tested... last time when my friend and i went, we both agreed the worksmanship is good but the electronics & the pricing for such models leaves much to be desired... hmm.

i tried them too. THe owner is very friendly.. THe only problem, is that she will take very very long lunch breaks. and close the shop in the meantime.

According to the owner, shine is manufactured from the same factories in korea that manufactured epiphone guitars. I tried on one of the semi hollow guitars, really impressed by it, its stock pickups are super warm. It has one of the best "women's tone" i've every heard. Its les paul imitations, sounds even better than my epiphone les paul :( , and they cost slightly lesser too.

Maybe all Shine needs is... Greg Bennett!!

I think Shine needs to hire someone experienced enough to revamp their products. Not revamp in the superficial sense, but down to the electronics and stuff...

The have 2 factory, 1 in china and 1 in korea. They say its the oem of epiphone. The models r not the 05 ones if im rite.

I think the workmanship is abit lacking. They make it to look like, but not feel like it. The necks r not comfortable and whats is tone without comfort playing?

I think u can find much better guitars at that price

ya the price is a big factor.

the looks wise no choice - obviously they want to avoid copyright infringements.

i thought the necks were pretty good for some. the "flying v" shape one was horribly designed imo thou.

I find the set neck models more comfortable than the bolt on ones... Maybe its just my preference, as necks r really v subjective:)
