I just purchased a 2nd hand seagull s6 slim and am unsure whether or not it requires setup. i've gone through some of the threads in this section and it appears to me that only thoroughly used guitars require setup.
the seagull i got seems fairly new, so no issues with frets popping up or anything of that sort, but I hear that lowering the action for better playability is also part of the setup process, even for the newer guitars.
has maestro had experience with setup on seagull s6's? and if so, is it recommended for a 3 month old seagull s6? I've had a go at my seagull, and while i'm not unhappy with the stock action, I wouldn't mind a lower action so it's easier for me to fret/play.
Also, does the setup mean new strings get installed?
