hi i am trying to set up a studio in my house. i am thinking of getting a electric drum set as it wouldnt be so noisy. do u guys know anything about electric drums. and like how much would like cheap one cost? and where to like get it?

sweelee has some cheap rolands, and yamaha has a few cheap ones as well. not sure about the exact price though. but it's about 1K plus, not exceeding 2k

oh anyway, i saw your post for looking for an elec kit at 400-500.

you really should try to increase you budget, that amount can only get you a drum module.

liverevolution, Yamaha's DTX has 3 series and each are of different levels (and budget) xD

DTXplorer is the entry level, good if you're starting out.

DTXxpress.. Erm, I'm not too sure, but its a mid-end set.

DTXtreme..Heh, 5k for the whole set and you get to play all sorts of funky stuff. Akira Jimbo does his one-band man feat with 2 modules of DTXtreme, elec pads and triggers on his acoustic. Crazy stuff :x

anyways, to TS: if you looking for elec drumkit, 600 is quite pretty low for really good ones. average selling price I've seen was 800 for the DTXplorer.

Whhops. Sorry. Forgot about that one. I'm not much of a drummer, just a casual one who goes and just give it a bang just for the fun of it. But yea, the DTX series have been the best I've ever tried so far. My cousin's got one, and I swear those are really good. Think his is quite high end though

dont really need a verryyy good one la..cause i wont be the one playing soo..haha! something my band can prac on tats all..

they have lower end ones that go for about $1.2k
like i said, you really have to stretch you budget for an elec kit.
if you can't afford a brand new one, go find one on the buy and sell.
you might be able to find a used one for 800

yamaha ones tend to lose its sensitivity. i tried it before. the beginner range one. If u want home studio, are u gonna sound proof it? if sound proof, get an acoustic one la? acoustic always have a better feel to the electronic one.
