Setting up of Guitars.

Cheaper than most places I know.

Price is quite a sensitive issue, so why dun u approach him personally. Bring down your guitar too. Sometimes, verbal communication through phone can be quite un-productive until he sees the guitar and the condition.

Hi pal,

wad!? :( ytd i gave it to Anthony to setup, it cost me $70.

worse part is, when I tried it at home, headstock was buzzing, first few frets were not right.

sad, feel kinda cheated, hopefully anthony didn't finish the setup properly.

anyways, today i called them up, i requested beez to do the setup for me instead, he refused, he said i shld go back to anthony.

chao sad de.

hopefully when i go back tml, i will get justified for wad i paid.

Hi,

Are you guys refering to acoustic guitars? How much does it cost to setup acoustic guitars? -What about changing the saddle?

hey guys, how much did u spend on setting up your guitars?
i wanna know the average pricing.

btw my guitar was an rg1570, straight from sweelee sale on the same exact day,
so condition isn't bad at all.

he mentioned something about edge guitars hard to setup.

a friend of mine had setup his acoustic b4 with a warped neck,
it cost him $50 about a year ago.

pls enlighten :(

i think u bring to beez better.. he is more transparent with the pricing.. i love him and im going down to have my les paul setup :)

Hi there,

Would first like to clarify that it is more costly to set up floyd rose guitars as there are more work that needs to be done (e.g. making sure the bridge is levelled, adjusting spring tension etc etc), hence this takes more time and effort. Those who uses the floyd rose (including myself) knows it's a chore to set it up.

Hence there is a price difference for setting up different kinds of guitars. This is why usually we quote $40 onwards, depending on what kind of guitar and how much work we need to spend working on it.

Jqiang, I'm glad u gave us a call and I hope you are happier with ur set up now. Please feel free to give us a call should you have any problems with your guitar.

Thanks and regards.

everyone should learn to set-up guitars themselves. i'm not advocating a boycott of those who are doing this for a living, in fact, if you are new to the electric guitar, set-up issues should be handled by a more experienced individual.

if you wish for some set-up enlightenment, General Bezz is da man! *salute*

I think there is a serious problem with internet culture these days. I'm a fellow repairman as well and we chose to do this as a career even when there are other more profitable options out there. We're actually always willing to help guitarists achieve what they want and Anthony as I know him, is one such guy.

So Jqiang, if you go back to Anthony and tell him your problem, he'll be happy to solve it for you. And you mentioned that the headstock is buzzing. I'm not quite sure if anybody will understand what headstock buzz is, so rather than come here and put Anthony's ass on the line, please go back and talk to him. Remember if you're nice, there's no reason for people to be nasty to you.

Granted no one's a saint, but there are better ways to resolve things than coming here and whining like a baby.

2 things:

1. action adjustment
refers to how high your strings are to the fret surface. raise/ lower bridge accordingly. for fixed bridge units, raise/ lower individual string saddles.

2. relief adjustment
refers to the amount of 'gap' between your fret & string when neck sighting is employed (either open sighting or close sighting aka capo sighting). relief rectification is due to a warped neck more than an incorrect action.

chances are, you need to do adjustment No. 1, however, if whatever you read here are beyond your understanding- bring your guitar to a tech.

the internet is a discourse for people who have bitter experiences in real life situations (guitar related or otherwise) so turning cyber might offer some consolation. the professional, more often than not, feels a little threatened by certain revelations in the cyberworld probably because it's exposing the individual's lack of knowledge, ethics, etc but there is a greater part of knowledge which is beyond the internet.

i'm apllauding KC's move to highlight the appropriate resolve when one deals with a professional treatment only to discover subsequent discrepencies/ issues pertaining to charge$ or otherwise. however, coming here to share/ enquire isn't exclusively whining, granted the way one does it might deem one to be.

in this faceless world of the internet, it's very difficult to judge...

so Jqiang- are you whining :?:

Hmm.

^^ I daresay that would be a tough one to answer...

To reveal ego or to reveal possible stupidity?

Ah'll just shut mah trap nawww...
