Sharmine, 16. Played classical guitar in a guitar ensemble in my secondary school from 2009 to 2012, but our parts are limited and unfortunately i'm a slacker so i did not master any shit during the four years.
Tried venturing into electric guitar in 2010, thus began learning electric at Yamaha for over a year, but sadly to say due to bad teacher and a lot of other factors, I stopped.
So in 2011 I went to Academy of Rock and learnt guitar for over a year before discovering I actually prefer bass sounds instead. (I blame chords, I really am bad at playing them, any tips?)
So now I'm concentrating on bass guitar though I still haven't own one yet, intending to take year 3 electric bass(been playing for less than 3 months though) exam this september then hopefully grade 5 next year.
My musical influences are very weird. I prefer cute pop? If there's such a genre. Basically just anime music, mostly japanese, and vocaloid music as well. An example of a cute song I like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnARuSlhUK0 (learnt the bass on it, will make a bass cover on YT if I manage to buy a bass)
Speaking of which, are there any good basses for the price of lesser than $400? I'm considering the Squier California Series P-Bass Special at $350, but I heard bad reviews about them... Though I quite like the sound.
Another thing, would I spoil my bass if I plug it into a guitar amp? My amp is a VOX VT-15, and tbh, my bass teacher said that it won't, since I'm playing in my room and at a very small volume. Hopefully I would not need to purchase a bass amp >_>
