Hi there, I'm a singer-guitarist, looking for a co-songwriter lead guitarist/backing vocalist to write and perform songs. I've been in bands here and there, but mostly playing drums and bass before.
I'm looking to write songs in the vein of Bloc Party - fast, frenetic syncopated, dual riffs, Weezer - layered vocals (you will have to do some backing vocals), and Nirvana - shouty vocals, idiosyncratic lyrics. These 3 bands are my North Star for creating this project, but of course I have other influences like Radiohead, Title Fight and Turnstile, black metal and even rap music.
The ideal songwriting partner should love the 3 bands mentioned above (passion comes first), and can riff over the chords that I write, and can also do some backup vocals. If you can't sing, it's ok - you don't need to have the perfect voice. All I want to create is a layered vocal effect (think "Buddy Holly" by Weezer or even "I Get Around" by the Beach boys). A huge plus is also if you come from a production background.
I've already written 3 songs - one of my songs is called "Let Me In (Nosferatu)", which you can check it out on my Instagram. I'm aiming to write about 6 songs in total so that I can start performing live. I've got a few concert promoter friends and they would consider putting me in their lineups. I'm not looking to be a cover band - all original songs and maybe 1 cover mash-up.
