wat do u guys think of this combination?
SD 59 / invader combo

disasterous. i own both...
the '59 & Invader output are at odds with each other, the latter being the more overpowering of the 2. any switch between play & you can hear the marked difference in volume. no amount of pickup height/ pole pieces meddlings could introduce a balanced response.
these 2 units also respond to overdrive differently, the Invader being more adept to high gain settings. the '59 is immaculate clean & slightly driven (if you intend to use it in the neck). the Invader also has more basss than the '59.
i'd wager that a slightly hotter humbucker would pair up with the Invader well (need not be very high output). my Invader is paired up with the Full Shred in the neck.
on the contrary if you reserve the '59 in the neck for clean/ slightly overdriven tones & the Invader solely a distortion pickup, it'd be quite fine.
