...screaming/singing...how to??

heyhey...uhm i was just wondering how to scream..without hurting ur throat and wut not...im in a band right now...im the singer and the singer..so its hard...i need to find a technique so i can sing and scream...trying to get that underoath, the used, finch, etc...for the singing part...i want to know how cover reber of saosin can sing like that...but mainly how to correctly screamo...for posthardcore/screamo/emo/etc... :twisted:

hmm...i believe screaming is mainly falsetto...but u add de extra edge to it by kinda "pushing" the voice up to ur head..

haha..nono..not head voice..head voice would come purely from the head..as a result u dun get enough power from ur falsetto to make it sound like a scream..the air has to be drawn from the stomach...but u haf to feel the strain on ur face..haha..not quite sure how to describe..hmm..its like a combi of head voice n drawing from your stomach..main thing is to draw the air from your stomach...but dictate the pitch/note that is coming out from your throat..combining both will give ya de falsetto wid an edge..hmm..hopefully dats understandable..

I think one very good example of someone who screams using falsetto is Ian Gillian from Deep Purple. his voice still sounds real solid after many years of 'screaming'.

yea..if i'm correct, chester uses the technique as i've described above...but if u wan the bee gees typa voice..den its jus falsetto..haha..there's also the other way of drinkin whisky n den going falsetto..which i've personally nv tried..so dunno if it works..hurhurhur..singapore idol is going for pop sounds man..dun go if u dun haf a pop voice..
