hi just a quick question
judging from the body of a gibson les paul
would it be better for schaller or dunlop straploks
cause it seems if u use schaller loks, when u put the strap on may come into contact with the body of the guitar and scratch it?

all LP owners
help is appreciated

thank u

cheers

im not an LP owner but the dunlop straplocks are really awesome 2 ways of using it and its pretty far from the body of the guitar so it wont scratch the finish if your using some uber tough strap like leather with studds or somethin:D

i use dunlop.. its decent. installation on different straps get fustrating.
but then again..

its hard to put on.. and IMPOSSIBLE to come off (even during 360 guitar swings)

There is another brand call marvel which i heard was pretty gd and cheaper than both schaller and dunlop, perhaps u can try that too.

na but for what he wants and not to destroy his finish like even abit of wear he should get the dunlop, schallers are great just that they are just like the normal positioning for the straps

Well then i guess dunlops shld be the way to go but jjames pls checkout the model first cause dunlop has a few model of diff strap locks........so as not to buy the wrong one accidentally.

schallers are not expensive.
get the ones packaged by fender, exact same thing but cheaper.
i got mine for RM45 / $20.

one good thing about schallers over dunlops is that u pull on it to release, rather than push the button.

and if the lock should somehow fail, the schallers will still hold on unlike the dunlops.

thanks a lot guys for the input
everdying u re rite abt the lock failing and schaller holding them into place
i have dunlops on my ebmm and play rock with that and no issues at all

if dunlops could well work with the LP i will prob get the dunlops

:)
