Scallop Frets

I've always been thinking...whats the use of Scallop Frets?

i tried them before, though i'm not a soloist...and it feels different and sounds weird when i apply pressure on the strings...its supposed to be the sound of bending rite?

i'm not that clear with the practical use of scallop frets...

why was it made? and does it really improve ur playing?

thx in advance :D

There are many postings on scalloped neck on the web.
There are all kinds of explanations. Require control, too much pressure will sharpen the note.
IMHO, its not necessary for speed, if you prefer the feel, why not. Think it was inspired by sitar? Anyway scalloping on the upper frets made it easier to play.

Only Practices will make you play better. :D

Hmm.

Unless I'm much mistaken, scalloping the finger board eliminates the process of your finger coming into contact with the fretboard. This (probably) means you might need less finger pressure to actually fret the note (unless your action super high) which equates to better speed?

I read it somewhere... and well plenty of shredders out there use scalloped fingerboards including the much idolised Malmsteem.

If i ain't wrong, a drawback with scalloped frets is that it is harder to play chords with.

And I heard that it improves your control in playing.
