Hi guys,

I really wanna improve my skills and need some help here.

Anyone knows any good online materials that I can use to learn scales and also how to start knowing more scales.

I really wanna take my guitar skills into the next levels and start doing those kinda "improvised" solos if u guys know what i mean.

If there are reasonable tutors around, I would also like to give it a try.

Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks so much.

yu got prior music background? If yu reelly serious, den learn from basic lor, work your way up. Jumping and skipping not going to help.

Download alot of BB King stuff. Nearly all his stuff is solo. Or you can get 'Lazy' by Deep Purple and solo to that. Your talking pentatonics right?

Hmm.

Perhaps you could list us some of your influences.. it's pointless for anyone to throw suggestions to you without giving us what level of improvisation you're looking at: Vai? Hendrix? Page? Carlton?

Basic improvisation comes from listening to the music that inspires you the most. Many a times, noodling around on the fretboard with a purpose can help you to expand your lick library.

My personal experience when it comes to improvisation comes from listening to the bands or individuals which do improvisation during live performances. That's where you can study their phrasing and choice of notes and what kind of emotive effect it has on you apart from "that's so cool!"

hey thanks all & sorry for the late reply. anyway, well basically i like scaling like bon jovi's guitarist kinda scaling. those simple but quite "majestic" ones. like slash also. heard he plays a lot of blues scales is that right?
