No cracks and I chose not to polish it over time as it is a little more drier and does not bleed or ring too much. Has good stick definition and awesome bell. It actually sounds way better than when I first bought this! So do not judge by appearance! I'll let you test the cymbal at my home studio in the context of a drum set to test the sound before you decide to purchase.
