why would your guitar rust? its a chrome boy? lol.. if u sandpaper, u gotta refinish it,must as well relic it.

The guitar parts, like the bridge. Wd-40 only prevents it from rusting but does not remove the rust. What is relic??

I use rifle oil and sandpaper / metal scrub to remove rust on some parts. Are some of your screws rusted as well? If yes, you might wanna head down to a hardware store down jalan besar, kelantan lane to get new screws. Wouldn't wanna change the screws too late, it can get nasty to the point that the screws are really hard to take out.

Do you repaint after sandpaper-ing? Cause the paint will get affected right?

I was referring to metal parts, nothing on the wodden body. So yep, I just sandpaper and leave some oil on it. No re-painting

Maybe you could post pictures of the rusted parts you intend to remedy. Can give a better suggestion from there.

Use sandpaper to remove the rust then get a can of spray paint to finish it.

First time I heard of guitar parts getting rusted (apart from screws). Oxidisation yes, rust no.
Yes, i think pictures would help.

oh ts, get some sandpaper, sand it carefully and gently, then polish with autosol (thats what my teacher used anyway )

Yo bro..any chances we could gold that particular hardware? i bought mine faded..and the salesperson hit a nail on my head when i told her the faded gold hardware cant be repainted..lolz..so is there any solution? anyone?
