Rudies all around?

Ska is the hybrid of reggae and rock, they usually include a horn section. Their music are mostly pretty uplifting. Example of ska bands are Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish and of course the popular No Doubt.

no doubt ska!!?? haha really ar...k thats real funny.
anyway ska happen in the 90s is it?? coz bands like chigago, blood sweat n tears all have blowing in their songs but i dun think they are ska...i dun get this people man...they categorize songs into complicated things...i mean no offence i am open to everything juz tat i sometimes dun understand this kind of groups or cultures..

to my understanding, ska is the mix of rock and calypso, an early form of music from the east indies. calypso is easily identified by the distinctive accent on the upbeats instead of downbeats, and has been around much longer than reggae and blues.

I'm a very rude boy. I play the guitar. I am rude to my guitar, as well as to my family, my prnts, my lil sister, bt nt my lil brother, n yes im rude to the police, my teachers, n my gf. One..F.Y.I..No Doubt is playing ska...they`re playing progressive ska....it has punk, hardcore n dancehall influences.
311 is playing progressive ska too...but they`re more to latin/reggae/hardcore fusion.....

ska started out very early...even Led Zeppelin had a ska number...try listen to `Dyermaker`....
chicago is not ska...they`re POP....
UB40 has a good blend of ska n reggae....

ska is not an edited version of reggae!!!
it`s another version totally!!.....swing music is also called ska jazz or dancehall....
nowadays the even have genres like reggaetons...roots reggae....progressive reggae..

anyways...rudies r a part of the skinhead family...
they skank.they dun mosh...just the smarter-looking skins lah...
with their two-tones clothing..hat...coat...
their culture isn`t really far from the skins....
it`s just that they`re the more gentle, smarter n friendly-looking version of the skins....

..

before anyone says which came first, do note that the internet is a valuable resource for music related information.

I really like ska songs...Somethign that you can dance along to while still having the punky/rock sound to it...But nowadays notmuch rudies all around...

6stringsamurai and serialninja is right.
ska came first.

definitive ska is the skatalites, they put up a really good show at the esplanade last year!

reel big fish, less than jake and other 90s 'ska' bands are barely ska. 3rd wave ska is more akin to punk rock with occasional 2-4 downbeats or 1-2-3-4 upbeats.

horns are wind instruments, tenor/alto saxophones, trumpets, trombones are the more common horns for ska.

and yes, tokyo ska paradise is great hah!

check out rx bandits and also, the slackers. rx bandits is not really ska, but an interesting mix of punk rock, emo and ska/reggae.
