Ok. I'm a computer noob. Can anyone tell me whoch router is good and value for money? I'm purchasing a Mac soon. So I wonder if the router will be able to connect to a Mac and PC. And what's the difference with Wifi. I can't play Ps3 online without wifi-.-

I'm using a buffalo router now, pretty good and its cheap too...wifi is same as those wireless in a laptop...

I'm sure you just need the cable to connect it to the router. Wifi is wireless, and you still need a router for that, if you want your own internet service.

Some pp might say Linksys is not bad, but for mine, it spoils within 5 mths, it just stop working all of a sudden and thats it, but currently my buffalo router has been serving me well, haha...

ethernet cable any brand will also work fine. just make sure u know the difference between straight and cross cable. will u need cat6 over cat5? do know how you want ur setup to be like...

whereas for router brand, linksys is not that bad of a brand. since you using mac, i would reccomend belkin. if you sigh up with singtel broadband, they will provide you with 2wire the brand wireless router. although its not one of the good ones, it is a good router unless your into heavy online gaming though..

~meh~

I use 2wire, free from singtel. Don't worry about internet cables and routers being mac-friendly, they all should be. A Mac can just use the built in airport to get the wireless connected, but when I play games online, my internet keeps disconnecting, so have to go through ethernet. Should have gotten a router earlier, the IT fair had mad bargains.

Ohh. Thanks guys : D Upped u guys Rep : ) (I dont know whether it will work. My rep is 0. LOL)
Anyways. I signed up for the Singtel 10 mbps since last year. Dont think I'll be getting 2wire.

Cool, I use a mac too, I may not be that pro, but at least I know some stuff, feel free to pm

Buffalo is a good brand, haha. I'm using it too (a router) after my linksys decided to die.
I have a PC connected to a router and my mac uses wireless. Taking the same ethernet cable for the PC to plug into my mac also works.

buffalo?skali buy real buffalo how?plug into the ass then wireless signals send out by the horns.

You can sit on the buffalo though. Wow, internet on the move. No need to use those free wifi in designated areas anymore and have unspeakable sites banned anymore. lol
