IMO if you have to invest in pedals + the cube amp, you might as well save up for a better amp.
You can either go for a hard-drive pedal such as the Metal Zone et al, and use it as a stand alone unit for your overdrive needs, or you can opt for a booster type like the Tubescreamer et al.
Cube 30 is abt $500 before discount. Cube 15 about $250 to $300, before discount. Maybe you would like to take a look at modelling amps like Tech 21 Trademark 10. I've heard some reccommendations about it. So might be worth to take a look at Sinamex. It's based on the Sanamps GT2.
