We are a couple of Irish musicians who play Irish folk music and need a rock back line to complete our folk-rock band (think The Pogues, Flogging Molly, etc.). We have gigged before, but the musicians we were with are unavailable in 2016.
We are looking for a solid bass player and drummer and an electric guitarist that will play predominantly rhythm guitar with a few lead breaks hear and there. Being able to sing backup vocals is a definite bonus (we are even happy to share lead vocal duties if you are good).
This is for a minimum of four guaranteed paid gigs in March - (on the 4th as a warm up gig and on 17th, 19th and 20th for St Patrick's celebrations). There will also be the option of more gigs beyond March if we all want to carry on together.
We will have 22 songs to put together, most of which we have recordings of how we have played them before (although we welcome any input you would have to change the songs). We would need to start rehearsing a minimum of once a week from the first week of January... which leaves us only 8 weeks to the first gig.
Rehearsals for March will be paid for by me, so you don't need to spend money. However, if we do continue after March we will expect the whole band to chip in for any further practice sessions.
